Situated in the tranquil village of Carmona, this villa set in a wonderful garden with a large private swimming pool offers the best possible holiday accommodation for those who are in search of a taste of typical Goan life but also want easy access to a resort to visit for the all important eating and drinking!

The property has been completely renovated and is now the perfect mix of old and new, lofty ceilings, wooden shutters, some original floors and the all important alter are retained, whilst all modern facilities are now provided. A large airy kitchen which opens onto a dining terrace outside and into the interior dining room has all modern appliances and a central work unit. The extremely spacious living room is furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new. The three bedrooms en suite with bathrooms in the main house are all air-conditioned and comfortable.

In adjoining accommodation there is a further double air-conditioned bedroom with en-suite shower room. There is a separate entrance from the garden and this could be the perfect bolt hole for grandparents or other family members when in need of a retreat.

Cavelossim with its many restaurants, the luxury of many 5* hotels are easily accessible by car. The unspoilt beach, a 10 minutes drive away, is the perfect spot for sunbathing, swimming or taking a stroll at sunset. There are a few beach shacks which all offer refreshments at reasonable prices. Sun beds and shade are available outside these shacks and can be used for the price of a drink.

MAIN HOUSE

The entrance to this home is fronted by a typical Portuguese balcao and shaded verandah. Heavy wooden double doors open into an impressive hallway which houses the antique alter seen in so many traditional homes.

• With entrance doors from the Hallway and the Dining Room you enter a generously proportioned lounge. This airy room has a high lofty open beamed ceiling three traditional shuttered windows overlooking the pool and two sets of shuttered doors onto the front balcao. This fresh room is furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new, to provide a comfortable space for lounging or watching TV.



• The spacious Dining Room which is furnished with a large table, and seating for eight, has a door off to the bedroom and out onto a second balcao which overlooks the pool and garden.



• A large and well equipped family kitchen, with an extensive range of bespoke teak and glass fronted fitted floor and wall cupboards. A window at each end gives views over the garden and floods the room with light. There is a central island unit topped with an impressive slab of a warm yellow coloured polished stone sourced in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.



• There is a gas cooking range with 5 burners and a full size oven, microwave oven, an ‘Aquaguard’ water purifier and a fridge/freezer.



• Bedroom 1 is air-conditioned with en-suite shower and has a double bed.



• Bedroom 2 is air-conditioned with en-suite shower and has an enormous 6 foot wide double bed or twin beds on request.



• Bedroom 3 is air-conditioned with en-suite shower and has an enormous 6 foot wide double bed or twin beds on request.

GUEST ANNEX
Bedroom 4 is also air-conditioned and is located in an attached guest annex. There is a double bed and an en-suite shower room. This accommodation has a separate entrance.

OUTSIDE

The big totally private walled garden will make it hard to leave Casa De Carmona. Shady in parts but with an extensive sunbathing patio, mature trees and pretty flowering shrubs, large lawns, outdoor dining terraces, a gazebo and shady seating areas are dotted around the garden so a shady spot in which to relax and while away lazy afternoons reading is not hard to find. For the more energetic the latest addition is the fabulous swimming pool (a 12 x 4 m lap pool) and a boules court, for those with the energy to get off their sun lounger!! The beautiful walled garden and pool is all yours!

STAFF

Resident Caretaker
Wilson is the resident grounds man responsible for general maintenance around the property and upkeep of the garden and swimming pool. He lives in his own accommodation with separate entrance at the rear of the villa.

Cleaning Service
The daily villa cleaning is ably provided by Maggie & Liza who know the house well and will do all they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible

Complimentary shuttle car with driver

Casa de Carmona has no taxis in the immediate vicinity and is not on a bus route, we have therefore included a car and driver in the price to provide you with a shuttle service to and from the local beaches, shops and restaurants. Everyday you have the freedom to visit a different beach and in the evenings sample the many restaurants. Shopping is easy too - with the driver to help on where to go and what to buy.

DETAILS

The vehicle is a Maruti taxi van that carries up to 4 passengers and luggage easily and is available courtesy of Lazydays for up to 10 hours daily between 8am and 12pm with a minimum of 1 hour for lunch (hours negotiated locally with the driver).

EXTRAS

Petrol: Calculated at the rate of ` 5 per km
`100: if any journey begins or ends outside the contracted hours.
`50 per hour: If you require the driver for longer than 10 hours this will have to be negotiated with your driver and an hourly rate of `50 will be payable.
