In our constant quest for interesting holiday homes we were thrilled to be offered a property on “SOL-itude” which is a collection of courtyard villas and apartments in Candolim built around a swimming pool and only 500 metres from the beach. The distinctive architecture and contemporary styling gives SOL-itude what can be best described as “Mediterranean with a dash of panache”. Having stamped his style on the exteriors, the builder then adopted a refreshingly different approach by leaving the owners to personalise the interiors of their properties resulting in flair and individualism
The owner of Sacada has continued the theme of sleek, clean lines by decorating the apartment in subtle neutral tones with wooden flooring in the two bedrooms, off- white tiles in the living and dining space and accent colours of fuschia pink and turquoise. The décor is completed with comfortable straight-lined corner seating, a wood and stainless steel coffee table and beds on trendy low wooden platforms.

The ensuite bathrooms are particularly distinctive with rain showers set in metallic wall tiles, suspended glass tiled ceilings and contemporary Italian fittings. The kitchen is compact and functional and metallic tiles have again been used.

The overall effect is “Manhatten” style in Goa.

The mood changes to outdoor living as you go onto the balcony. Here there are chairs and sofa; ideal for relaxing in and contemplating going for that swim.

SOL-itude is walking distance to the beach and it is centrally positioned for the shops and restaurants of both Candolim and Calangute. A number of very popular restaurants are near by – from the famous “Bob’s Inn” to one of the best continental restaurants in Goa “After Seven”. If you want something more casual then there are the traditional shacks built every year on the beach which serve fish and Goan specialties and are great for a beach barbecue.
